House Church Tour
A United Community Across Northern Colorado
Over the past few months, I've had the incredible privilege of visiting and participating in the different House Churches that make up Spirit + Truth. Each one has left me deeply blessed, and I find myself in awe of how unique and special every single one is. Yet, in their individuality, there’s an unmistakable unity—an unshakable foundation built upon the four pillars found in Acts 2:42: the apostles’ teaching, the breaking of bread, fellowship, and prayer. These pillars aren’t just theoretical values; they are woven into the very fabric of our House Church communities.
The Pillars of Acts 2:42: A Foundation for Growth
Acts 2:42 says, "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." These are not just ancient practices—they are the lifeblood of Spirit + Truth’s House Churches, and they create an atmosphere where growth, love, and transformation happen. Every time I’ve stepped into a new House Church, I’m reminded of how deeply the people here are devoted to these pillars.
The Apostles' Teaching
When you walk into any of our House Churches, you immediately feel the weight and significance of God’s Word being central. Whether through deep Bible study, discussions about applying Scripture to daily life, or just wrestling with big questions, there’s a hunger for truth. What’s remarkable is how much these teachings shape and unify us. Each group might be discussing a different passage or focus, but all are rooted in the gospel and anchored by a desire to know Christ more deeply. It’s not just knowledge for the sake of knowledge—it's knowledge that transforms hearts and lives.
The Breaking of Bread
In a world that feels more divided than ever, the breaking of bread in our House Churches is a powerful symbol of unity and connection. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a shared experience that brings us together, reminding us of the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made for us. Every time I sit down at a table with these beautiful communities, I see the love of Christ manifest in the simplest of ways—through laughter, conversations, and moments of reflection. It’s a moment where we lay down our differences, remember the cross, and draw closer as the body of Christ.
Fellowship
Fellowship is the heartbeat of our House Churches. From the moment you step into one, it’s evident that these aren’t just meetings—they’re family gatherings. Each House Church has its own unique flavor of fellowship. Some are filled with a contagious energy, where kids are running around and people are chatting loudly. Others are quieter, with a peaceful atmosphere of reflection and deep conversation. But no matter the style, the purpose remains the same: we gather to encourage, uplift, and support one another. And I must say, I am constantly blown away by how sincerely people care for each other in these spaces. It’s a fellowship that doesn’t end when the night does—it carries on throughout the week, as people stay connected and involved in each other’s lives.
Prayer
Prayer in our House Churches is more than a quick closing ritual—it’s the glue that binds us together. I’ve been amazed at how powerful these prayer times are. In some settings, we gather in small circles, lifting up personal requests. In others, we storm heaven together for breakthrough in our communities, families, and cities. The Holy Spirit moves mightily in these times, and it’s not uncommon to see healing, deliverance, and deep encouragement happening right before our eyes. There’s something so beautiful about hearing people pray with vulnerability and confidence, trusting that God is at work in their lives.
A Network That Comes Together in The Gathering
What’s even more incredible is how these House Churches, while intimate and close-knit, come together as one body for *The Gathering* on Sundays. It’s a visible expression of unity in diversity. Each House Church brings its unique strengths and perspectives to the larger community, creating a rich tapestry of worship and fellowship. I often look around and marvel at how diverse yet unified we are—different households, different walks of life, yet we are one family in Christ.
As I reflect on this journey, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of pride and gratitude for what God is doing in and through these House Churches. They are vibrant, authentic, and filled with people who are devoted to seeing God’s kingdom come. I’m blown away by the love, hospitality, and devotion I’ve witnessed. I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of this movement, and I’m excited to see how God continues to use Spirit + Truth House Churches to bring healing, hope, and transformation to our community.
Spirit + Truth, we are truly living out the call of Acts 2:42—one House Church at a time.
